Tidal wind

I hear the wind and seething tide,

The fire, crackling at sunrise,

I feel its warmth, void in my chest,

Hope what’s to come is for the best.

I close my eyes, dig toes in sand,

Tear’s rolling down, falls on my hand.

Sun gently shines, touching my skin,

Inflaming what lies deep within.

Inside there is so much unsaid,

Can only guess what lies ahead.

Braving the storm, my inner fear,

I'm gonna make it disappear.

Open my eyes, feel storm's end,

The silence is my only friend.

Despite the life led me astray,

The tidal wind will show the way.
